Actually, AD IS a brilliantly funny anime. It's just that it takes a more
refined understanding of humor and, of course, other people to truly understand
the comedy behind it. I can see by your "review." that you have
neither.
I couldn't stand this show. It tries so hard to be serious, but
ultimateiy, that's what brings it down. If I want drama, I'll watch actual live
action shows. Not this crap. The characters were unbelievable in everything they
did, and in a show where everything is character-driven, that makes KGNE from
bad to worse.
Lemme say that your review of this anime is made of failure. You went in
expecting no plot, but you somehow wanted a plot in the show anyway? That's
worse than failure.
Wow... another undeserved high score for a craptastic anime like KGNE.
I've seen my share of soaps and KGNE pales so much in comparison to them that
it's actually unfair to put them side by side. It's a generic, melodramatic and
poorly written piece of crap show which tries too hard to "play with your
emotions" that it throws actual depth and common sense out the window. And
it STILL failed to reach me emotionally in any way. I can list a bunch of ways
of how much this show sucked, but hey, to each their own.
Quote by KyThis was a
very biased and poorly graded review. When somebody gives STORY AND CHARACTERS a
10 in a crap anime like Shuffle, you know it's
crap.
While you scold me for being biased, why do you say that Shuffle is crap?
Shuffle is a great anime for some people, including me. If I am being biased,
you are too. And Shuffle is an awesome anime, why else would I write a damn
fucking review about it!? And who the hell said that reviews are not allowed to
be opinionated?
Also, to the person who said that anime fans have become "porn is bad"
wusses, you are a damn pervert to say that the graphic and explict references
are fine. Unlike you, some people actually have the decency to dislike porn.
I say it was a biased review, simply because Shuffle just isn't that good an
anime for its character and story to receive a perfect 10. There was nothing
interesting, meaningful, or deep about the story at all. Every girl in the
series all fell under the same "submissive" category. NONE of them had
a background. The biggest question the series ever presented was which girl Rin
would choose. And even if though it is a harem anime, it could have been done
better. There were so many flaws in Shuffle, I've lost count. Quite possibly the
biggest ball dropped was during the Kaede arc, when they COMPLETELY bullshitted
and forced Rin with Asa. That was so ridiculously pretentious. Shuffle! is a
piece of crap anime, and while I am being biased in saying so, I also look at
the merit of Shuffle!, and believe that it's better to be harsh about it than
elevating it like you do.
And people write damn fucking reviews for anime they don't like either. Reviews
aren't written just because they think an anime is awesome.
screenlooker : Are you serious? That's one of the most jaded, and quite bluntly,
retarded things I've read. Considering the reviewer had little to no idea what
the hell Elfen Lied really is about, I would recommend watching it before
calling it "senseless" anything.
Wow, your review might have held water if you hadn't included the "Aimed
toward pedophiles and serial killers" remark. That, my fellow MTer,
classifies you under the same category of all other EL haters. The people who
fail to see the more subtle aspects of the show, the contrasting genre clashing
against each other, the emotions and atmosphere linking and generally other
things that people who like EL enjoy it for.
Seriously, your entire review, itself, was a cliche response to Elfen Lied. I've
lost count of the number of times people like you bitched about the violence and
underage content in Elfen Lied. I agree to disagree with you, after all, to each
their own. However, I suggest that you read other peoples reviews and see why
they like it so much. There's a lot more to EL than the harem show you (and
others) claim it to be.
Finally, I also think bitching about cliches and originalities is overdone now.
Nowadays, every anime, has SOME plot device. If you were to complain about Elfen
Lied having cliche elements, then you'll probably end up doing the same with
other titles as well.
I disagree with your review. The story was fantastic, and the plot is sound
(though very cliche), but the characters are what made this series lackluster,
IMO. None of the characters, with the possible exception of Haruka for obvious
reasons, had me react in any emotional way possible.
Potentially a great anime, modeled after a very serious story/drama, but
ultimately held back by the rather boring and one-dimensional characters.

And somehow, the waitresses made that even worse.
Love Hina anime wasn't good.... but not THIS bad.
Seriously, most of your reviews seem to be nothing but angry rants that really hold little credibility. I probably wouldn't trust your biased reviews.
Come back in a few years. It's obvious you're not in the right mindset to watch this anime.
Many people who rank this anime low are people who want bread and butter crap.

Shuffle was a horrible anime. One where they completely dropped the ball towards the end
I thought it was a funny anime. In a really stupid, juvenile and immature way. You really need to turn your brain off to understand it.
Wonderful review! So articulately written and enthusiastic. Marimite is a terrific series that's sadly underrated by series that are undeserving.

I really don't think this series deserves all 10s across the board unless you really love fanservice.
